Recent Research Topics in AI for Social Media

Abstract

It is well known that Social Media play more and more important role in many fields of our life, among others, to target customers for Green Technology use. In this talk an overview of methods for Social Media using AI will be presented. First some statistics of Social Media will be shown. Next we will analyse the impacts of AI on research problems related to Social Media. Some trends of AI on Social Media including sentiment analysis, stance detection and fake news detection will be presented. The research results of our group in sentiment analysis will also be shown.

Circular Economy: from shrimp waste to value products

Abstract

Vietnam is one of the major shrimp producers in the world. The shrimp processing industry has generated a large amount of shrimp waste including shrimp shells and heads. But this waste contains bioactive compounds such as protein, chitin, lipid, pigment, and minerals. This review aims to indicate the problems to opportunities of shrimp waste; a more sustainable approach for the utilization of shrimp waste for the production of valuable products such as protein, and chitosan. In addition, it also discusses the properties and potential applications of these bioactive components.

AI, ML, Big Data: Gateway to a Greener Future?

Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and Big Data have revolutionized a number of application areas in recent years, way beyond the promises AI made when it took off in the 1960s. Applications of AI and ML can be found in medicine, electronic commerce, gaming, or sports; some of these are serious, while others are more on the entertainment side. A widely used tool based on machine learning are recommendation systems, which nowadays can be found in almost every context where providers compete for customers’ attention, time, or money. A natural question arises of whether and, if so, how AI can contribute to a greener and more sustainable future for mankind. The talk will survey areas where AI and ML have so far proved to be strong, will sketch the history of and technology behind AI, will then outline a number of areas where progress in the direction of a greener future can already be recognized, and will finally outline where research needs to step in.

Application of Big Data Technology in Data Collection & Analysis - Gateway IoT System for Automatic Meter Reading and FI

Abstract

With the increasing demand for electricity, the power system needs to serve a huge number of customers. Data collection from a large number of measuring devices and fault indicators on the system is necessary to control business, operation and electricity market problems. There have been research and development projects integrating modern technologies such as Big Data, AI. As a result, the IoT Gateway system has been built to serve as a platform to expand and develop future features; ensure the features to serve the increasing demands in production, operation and business of the power system.

Maximizing Design and Construction Considerations Regarding Green and Sustainable Criteria with reference to the “Living Building Challenge 4.0"

Abstract

The paper discusses a Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) decision environment, where key design and construction decisions that affect the sustainability features of the structure under consideration can be debated by the many stakeholders. AEC collaboration is fostered from pre-construction using Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) contract strategies. Within this VDC environment the presentation will focus on the seven performance categories key criteria to be considered as defined by the “Living Building Challenge 4.0” strategy that assists creation of a safer, greener, and more sustainable environment. These are the “Petals”: Place, Water, Energy, Health + Happiness, Materials, Equity and Beauty. The environment proposed is one that fully utilizes the strengths of intelligent computer agents to assist in bringing the required knowledge and information into the decision environment as the design solution is developing, interrogated and refined. In this way, many alternative design options can be rapidly explored that have an impact on such important areas as sustainability, safety, environmental, etc. The objective is to have the resulting design use sustainable materials and methods that can be built safely within defined cost parameters and go some way to propose a collaborative solution to the “Living Building Challenge 4.0”.

University Social Responsibility: Yongkang Industrial Zone and Adjacent Areas and Internationalized Green Demand and Sustainable Development (2020-2022 USR Program granted by MoE, Taiwan, R.O.C).

Abstract

Cooperating with the school's green technology program, general education program and PBL program, a teacher team led students to manufacturers in Yongkang Industrial Zone and neighboring primary and secondary schools to improve air quality, water and electricity conservation, cultivate nearly 1,000 students each year, save energy, benefit nearly 10,000 people, assist manufacturers to estimate electricity cost savings of nearly 1 million, promote students' social responsibility to Yongkang Industrial Zone, and jointly create a sustainable environment.
• Air Pollution: students to practice air boxes to help improve the monitoring of pollution discharge pipelines in Yongkang Industrial Zone
• Water saving: students to assist Shengli Elementary School in improving the ecological pool (planting aquatic plants, arranging the waterways of the ecological pool).
• Power saving: Dual PBL students to assist and guide manufacturers in energy saving diagnosis
• Talent Cultivation: Through this plan, students to be connected with green education in primary and secondary schools.
• Global cooperation: Construction of a solar PV field training facility in Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE), Vietnam; Power Factory Grid Simulation Training Program, Water Saving program in a company in Binh Duong Industrial Zone.
